Nick Bown

Nicholas is Sycurio’s Chief Security Officer and a globally recognized authority in cybersecurity, data protection, and risk management. With over 30 years in technology and more than 25 years in security leadership roles, Nicholas brings deep, cross-sector experience to Sycurio at a time of accelerating threats and heightened industry demands. At Sycurio, Nicholas is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the company’s information and physical security strategy, infrastructure, and governance.

Nicholas is one of only a select few professionals worldwide to hold the coveted Register of Chartered Security Professional (CSyP) designation—a gold standard in the field, often held by senior figures in government, defense, and nuclear regulation. In addition, he is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Information Security (FCIIS) and a Fellow of the British Computer Society (FBCS), reflecting his standing at the intersection of cybersecurity, IT leadership, and physical risk mitigation.

In the 2026 New Years Honours List, Nicholas was awarded a British Empire Medal by His Majesty King Charles 3rd for his outstanding services to advancing Information Security. This included developing security methods for improving the identification of individuals, reducing risk to the banking and financial services sectors and pioneering methods of making antimalware products more widely available online.

Prior to joining Sycurio, Nicholas held CSO roles across leading financial institutions, private equity firms, and global fintechs. His high-profile experience includes information security roles at JP Morgan, Guardian News & Media, and IXCG, giving him unique insight into securing high-profile, high-risk digital environments.
